Learn more about the planned festivities below and check out the full schedule here:

OPENING NIGHT

As we celebrate our 14th year, Opening Night will be held at El Museo del Barrio in their beautiful Teatro. We are especially excited for this year as the decade-long capital improvement of the building is complete. Additionally, we have Salsa Caterers and YaVe Tequila (both Puerto Rican-founded businesses) joining us again to provide our opening night food and refreshments. Every year, we honor a Puerto Rican who has contributed significantly over a lifetime to our industry. This year, that honor will be given to Iris Chacón. We will also honor David Zayas with our Orgullo Award and Aureo Ivan Cardona with the Visionary Award. Shortly thereafter, our Opening Night Film of “Once Upon a Time in the Caribbean” will have its New York Premiere. Afterward, we will meet up at a real culinary institution, La Fonda for drinks and food!

DAY TWO

Thursday, we begin our day with a series of documentaries at the Museum of the City of New York. Their theatre may be accessed at the door near the corner of 104th Street and 5th Avenue. After that, we will gather at Silberman where the new home for CENTRO, the Center for Puerto Rican Studies (City University of New York), will host a “Cafecito Con Actores”. Iris Chacón, David Zayas, and Isabel Arraiza will discuss the island, their experiences as performers, and where we would like to see the industry go. This event will take place from 6:00pm – 8:00pm. Register in advance now as space is limited.

DAYS THREE, FOUR, FIVE

We are excited to return to the Regal at Essex-Crossing in Loisaida (the Lower East Side).

129 Delancey St, New York, NY 10002. The schedule can be found here. There will be a small window of time for a Q&A with the filmmakers, so bring out your family, friends, and supporters.

CLOSING NIGHT

Day Five we will have two more blocks of films and our closing ceremony with all of our winners, including our Audience Choice Award.”
