For centuries, mariners have come across a mysterious natural phenomenon where the ocean suddenly glows as far as the eye can see. Scientists now assume it is bioluminescence, but how and why remains a mystery because no researcher has been able to study them in real time. We follow a team dedicated to unlocking the secrets of the “milky seas.”
